Whitebark Institute is seeking a full-time skilled Communications Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that brings critical topics like forest health, wildfire risk, community preparedness, and regional resilience to life for diverse audiences. Main responsibilities include managing digital and social media platforms, creating newsletters and outreach materials, coordinating partner communications, supporting public events and community engagement, and assisting with donor and funder communications.
Desired Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, environmental studies, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in communications, storytelling, or a related role.
- Experience contributing to or managing communications strategy.
- Strong writing and editing skills, particularly in narrative storytelling.
- Ability to translate scientific or complex information for general audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and details.
- Experience with digital and social media engagement, including strategy and analytics.
